The Long Run

Being shortlisted against tough competition, and on-IDLE are very proud to have been the team who designed the website and built the custom CMS of The Long Run. 

The Long Run website was initially launched in 2009, but needed a drastic design and CMS (content management system) update to cater for the initiative's growth and changing organisational structure by December 2012.

A particular challenge was to solve the navigation architecture with a large amount of listed content - visual maps and image-led landing pages as a secondary navigation option, an extended site footer and expansive sitemap proved to be good solutions.

HTML5 and JavaScript was used to ensure beautiful rendering of the large number of different magazine-like layout templates and dynamic dropdown menus.

The Long Run is a Zeitz Foundation initiative which promotes sustainable tourism globally. Long Run Destinations, Supporters and Alliance members offer unique and high quality travel experiences to some of the world's most exotic destinations. Visitors can be secure in the knowledge that their custom will have a net positive benefit in terms of conservation, community, culture and commerce.

The award was announced at the Travel Mole Web Awards, in association with Lead Generators, the UK's specialist online marketing agency for the travel industry.
