Working closely with Fox Kalomaski over the summer of 2010, on-IDLE and Brik Digital launched the completely re-designed layout design of the Bahamas Tourist Office UK website and fully customised, multi-lingual CMS (Content Management System).

Since launch in 2008, the UK website has done so well, that the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism proceeded strategically with the development of a European-wide platform, driven by the UK-initiated CMS, site content and interface design. The UK site was launched first, followed by France and Spain end-September 2010 and Germany, Italy and Hong Kong (ironically) by the end of October 2010.

The upgraded CMS caters not only for multiple languages and domains, but also facilitates the updating of Promotions / Offers, Competitions, homepage island hopping, video and images, and of course Bahamas accommodation, information, a unique image / video gallery, and last, but not least, localised press, Bahamas holiday deals, tour operator and travel agent listings. The CMS and website is truly an intelligent platform, integrating content from a translation system (Lingo24) and the streaming of user data to a customised CRM database system (MSS).

After months of planning, and a summer of intense development, on-IDLE couldn't be prouder of launching a beautifully designed, content-rich and truly multi-lingual system, with top-of-the-range SEO (search engine optimisation), that still caters for local anomalies.

Oxford Street Website Design Refresh
Oxford Street Website Design Refresh

September 2010

First developed by on-IDLE in 2007, the Oxford Street website needed a design refresh to co-incide with London Fashion Week in September 2010.

Working closely with Small Back Room who led the interface design refresh, and New West End Company, on-IDLE modified the custom Oxford Street CMS (Content Management System) to facilitate in-house updates of the homepage elements such as calls to action boxes, the hero image banner and store opening times.

Visit the Oxford Street website regularly to find out What's On, relevant information such as parking, and in particular using the special map search for stores and restaurants.

Cross-Channel Film Website Design & Build
Cross-Channel Film Website Design & Build

August 2010

To celebrate the imminent release of the feature film, Cross-Channel, on-IDLE were commissioned by the acclaimed director of Nighthawks (1978), Fighters (1991) and Real Money (1995) amongst others, Ron, Peck, to design and build the Cross-Channel website.

The website's design reflects the mood and rhythm of the film and the DVD cover, without being so definitive that it could jar with posters and other marketing material.

A short preview is shown on the homepage, with a full credits listing, and of course, a bio on Ron Peck.

Once the film festival season has passed, the Cross-Channel DVD can be purchased directly from the website.

For those who know Marc and Ane-Mari - they appear as a cameo in the casino scene of the film!

West End LIVE Website & CMS Launch
West End LIVE Website & CMS Launch

May 2010

Arguably London's greatest and biggest free entertainment festival, West End LIVE was a huge success at Leicester Square on the 19th & 20th June 2010.

But, taking inspiration from the very cool and appropropriate logo, on-IDLE have delivered a contemporary, event-driven interface design that includes a video of the event and a competition.

Other interactive features include an accessible website version, news ticker, social bookmarks and sponsors. The website is supported by a full content management system (CMS) to cater for last minute programme changes and new sponsons coming on board between the launch and the event.

Philosopher's Football Match Website Launch
Philosopher's Football Match Website Launch

March 2010

Forget The World Cup! Join us for THE REALLY big football fixture of 2010…

'Socrates Wanderers' and 'Nietzsche Albion,' Central London, Spring 2010

This isn't the pub team or Sunday league side facing a crucial fixture: it’s a match pitching some of the greatest intellects against each other, a match that will try to answer the really big questions… perhaps one of the biggest of all: Was Socrates' goal off that diving header from Archimedes really offside, as Karl Marx claimed – and was Confucius out of order to give Nietzsche that red card for arguing 'he had no free will'?

Inspired by the famous 1972 Monty Python sketch, and with the full backing of the surviving Pythons, a tribute/replay of ‘The Philosophers' Football Match’ between 'Greeks' and 'Germans' in London is being held on the 9th of May 2010 at the Wingate & Finchley’s Harry Abrahams stadium, North London here.

on-IDLE's sponsorship of the event is through the website and t-shirts design. You can purchase t-shirts here and buy tickets to the event.

Social media content from Facebook and Twitter are fed through to the website and an eBay auction will launch 2 weeks prior to the event auctioning  a special Match Memorial Football signed by all the surviving members of the Monty Python team (John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam).

Please visit www.philosophersfootball.com for more information about who is playing, how to buy tickets or lend your support for the Philosophy Shop's campaign to get ‘reasoning’ - the fourth ‘R’ - into the curriculum.

American Express Switzerland - Choose Your Card Campaign
American Express Switzerland - Choose Your Card Campaign

March 2010

Commissioned by Swisscard AECS AG
Concept by Der Navigator, a Swiss-based Dailogue Marketing Agency

Working closely with Der Navigator and an SEO specialist, on-IDLE designed and developed a microsite and Open Source content management system to support a new marketing campaign running through March 2010 for American Express credit cards in Switzerland.

Flash video shows 8 characters that represents the American Express 'private cards' portfolio. The user is encouraged to select the charcter most like them which brings up the relevant detail such as related advantages, application and related links. The main driver of the microsite is to push new membership as well as raising awareness of the different Amex card types that are available.

on-IDLE also programmed a flash intro to the microsite combining music and images to set the tone and communicate the key campaign messages.

The 'Choose Your Card' Campaign microsite achieved Swiss press coverage on Persoenlich.com

The video and website execution is a good showcase of what can be achieved - take a look here at www.americanexpress.ch/kartenwahl/

Michael Wolff Website
Michael Wolff Website

February 2010

Drawing inspiration from a book initially commissed during Michael's time at The Fourth Room, Michael's website explains his career and services through an online alphabet.

Each letter of the alphabet has a short explanation of what that letter means within the context of working with Michael Wolff as well as an illustration to add a touch of humour to the context, the majority of which were drawn by renowned cartoonist Charles Barsotti.

on-IDLE brought Michael's vision to life through a simple flash website with a custom animation sequence between each letter. This website shows how less really can be more.

Planned future phases of the website include the use of video and an online portfolio of work.

Playne Design website refresh & new CMS
Playne Design website refresh & new CMS

December 2009

The original Playne Design holding page website developed by on-IDLE 3 years ago has finally been replaced with a brand new website and content management system (CMS).

For the new website launch, Playne had all their work professionally photographed which can now be browsed in depth through an innovative "image scroller". The image scroller is used as a navigation vehicle throughout the site, as well as providing strong visuals and motion. Interestingly, the image scroller is programmed in Ajax and not in Adobe Flash, meaning end-users do not need any plug-ins or players to view the site and work. Playne are able to control the speed and number of pieces of work within the image scroller directly through the CMS.

Playne designed the website concept from where on-IDLE worked closely with the project team to build and deliver a technically challenging site that not only looks beautiful, but works in all browser versions, is fully search engine optimised and wholly accessible.

West End VIP website refresh and new CMS

October 2009

Commissioned by New West End Company

Launched early in 2009, the West End VIP website offers promotions, discounts and competitions to members of the West End VIP club. The membership card itself is scheduled for launch in November 2009. If you regularly shop, go out, eat or stay in London's West End, becoming a member of the West End VIP club definitely has its advantages - sign-up today.

Tunisian Tourist Office Website and CMS
Tunisian Tourist Office Website and CMS

May 2009

The National Tunisian Tourist Office in the UK & Ireland digital marketing account is held by Brik Digital who commissioned on-IDLE to assist with planning the site architecture planning and subsequently build the website, Google Map mashup, interactive itenerary and fully integrated CMS (content management system).

The website used an innovative mashup between Google Maps and activities and accommodation to make it visually easy to plan your travel to the country. The travel itenerary can be saved, shared with friends and family and printed off as a pdf document on the fly for reference on your travels.

The metholodgy of integrating a typical travel itenerary-builder with Google Maps and dynamically generated available activities has generated a lot of media and travel industry interest. Expect to see more out of this site as technology develops.

Try out the Google Map mashup itenerary planner or simply visit the website to find out how fabulous Tunisia actually is as a tourist destination which is only a 2 and a half-hour flight from the UK (we didn't know that either when we started the build!).
